All of the 10th graders at the school where I teach have to complete a personal project of their choice and one of the classes I teach involves showing them to create, develop, and manage the project. This year I'm trying a different approach by using a game I've been writing to illustrate the process: Essentially I'm carrying out my own personal project with them. Part of the project involves keeping a process journal and to make it more accessible to the students I'm doing it as a Live Journal.
The game is called Kidz and is a RPG in which the players take on the role of kids involved in solving mysteries, catching criminals, or hunting down the supernatural. The project's theme stretches beyond just the topic of the game: The book will be illustrated largely by kids (I've recruited a few very talented art students from the school) and all of the proceeds will be going to The School for Life.
If anyone is interested in following the project, you can check it out here.
